The Opportunity - Project Manager - Finance Transformation

We are pioneering something new and remarkable. We've used technology to boost the efficiency of our operations teams and are now embarking on a journey to streamline how each department at Canada Drives interacts with our Finance department through the implementation and integration of an ERP (Oracle Netsuite) with our core solutions and systems.

The Finance Project Manager will work alongside our Finance team members to assist with the transformation of our organization. You will support efforts to identify leading practices, improve & implement processes, enhance systems, and realign Finance functions to realize lasting opportunities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading, moderating & facilitating effective working relationships between team members and stakeholders
  • Scoping, creating and maintaining project plans/requirements documentation and ensuring regular and accurate communication of the plan to project teams and business stakeholders
  • Playing a key role in implementation and process design including creation of new Finance policies and procedures on a centralized repository
  • Adopting appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches
  • Identifying, assessing and managing key risks to the success of the project
  • Ensuring project deliverables are completed within agreed timescales and costs, with documented sign-off from key business project stakeholders
  • Managing stakeholders and negotiating/resolving any conflicts or competing priorities
  • Highlighting issues and risks during implementation, testing and communicating these to project stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Implementing planning activities, including managing the process of integrating new projects with existing/complementary processes
  • Working cross-functionally to agree and implement modifications to project plans including managing impacts arising from changes
  • Be accountable for managing project budgets, collating financial data and providing reports to assist with and facilitate decision making
  • Present the status of key projects to senior management, including the CFO, as required

What You Should Already Have:

  • 2 - 7 years of project management experience within a finance department
  • PMP or equivalent certification (e.g. Six Sigma, PRINCE2, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Knowledge in resource and change management
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively to build relationships and work towards collective goals
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across working groups
  • Experience in Accounting (e.g. CPA, CA, CMA, etc.) is an asset
  • Experience with Netsuite and/or Salesforce is considered an asset
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) is an asset
