The Northern Alberta YMCA is looking for an experienced payroll administrator. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Payroll Administrator at YMCA of Northern Alberta supports the payroll team and completes payroll processing effectively. They take on extra administrative tasks as needed to assist the team, and answer inquiries throughout the organization regarding payroll and claims.

Position Responsibilities Processing of payroll in a timely and accurately manner. Review, enter, and process all employee expense claim forms. Answer staff inquiries regarding remuneration matters and respond to all external inquiries regarding remuneration matters (e.g., Reference inquiries, EI, Revenue Canada etc.). Complete calculations on employee pay based on specific employee’s life stage by interpreting data to ensure pay is processed to agreements. Review payroll to ensure all information is correct and to avoid complications by using ADP to calculate and manually verify. Compile data from payroll results and prepare all Journal Entries accurately and in a timely manner Complete reconciliation and remittance requirements by reconciling accounts and sending information to finance. Provide and maintain all personnel files (current and historic). Act as support to the administrative team wherever needed.
What You’ll Need for This Job Post-secondary education in related field program preferred Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification preferred Experience in payroll, accounting, and administration ADP experience preferred Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector and where Child Intervention/Enhanced Security check
