Hapag-Lloyd, a leading global container shipping line with over 13,000 employees worldwide in 129 countries is currently recruiting for dynamic and experienced Operations Coordinators to join our Equipment and Transport Disposition teams in Montréal.


Equipment:

This role requires an individual who is comfortable working in a fast pace environment. Responsible for ensuring that appropriate containers and equipment levels are maintained to meet customer needs in a timely manner while controlling costs. The main responsibilities of this position include:



  • Tracks and releases equipment daily for all depots/terminals in the area to ensure accurate inventory records

  • Repositions containers

  • Tracks and traces overdue equipment to ensure faster turn-around and decrease of turn- around times

  • Issues works orders to reposition equipment by rail and/or by truck.

  • Controls costs for positioning equipment and evaluates vendor performance

  • Handles inquiries relating to equipment releases or inventory availability

    Transport Disposition:

    In this role, you will be responsible for Co-ordinating and implementing Intermodal strategies to keep containers, moving with all regulations and internal criteria, using all available modes of transportation in the most cost-efficient way. Additional responsibilities include:



  • Respond to external/internal customer inquiries regarding rail billing issues

  • Create export/import rail waybills

  • Create empty export rail Work orders

  • Call trucker/shipper when information is incorrect or missing.

  • Update and handle changes, exceptions and cancellations

    Skills & Qualifications



  • Applicant should be physically based in or around Montreal, Canada

  • University degree or equivalent

  • Good command of written and spoken English

  • Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Able to work well with others and follow guidelines

  • Highly organized with the ability to work autonomously to achieve optimum results
