As a Technology Portfolio Manager, you play a key role in our Technology Solutions (TS) area, leading portfolio planning, governance enablement, and delivery support for our TS business-aligned leaders. You will partner closely with TS and Economical business line leaders to proactively develop and manage technology portfolio roadmaps and priorities; this will include engaging across TS functions (Architecture, Cloud, Cyber, Strategy, Data) to shape our technology direction and future business cases, ensuring alignment with our Enterprise Architecture and TS Strategy. While championing our technology planning, you will also establish and enable practices for positioning / communicating the TS portfolio strategy, priorities, and accomplishments with our TS senior executives. On occasion, you will also lead discovery initiatives with TS architecture, Technology Leads, Business, and Enterprise Procurement to explore and identify new opportunities for introducing technology solutions at Economical Insurance
What can you expect in this role?
As a strategic planner, you will partner with senior business and TS leaders to develop and maintain the technology portfolio roadmap and integrated plan, while ensuring project priorities are aligned to strategic technology and business goals, and annual plan objectives; you will work closely with Technology Leads and Architecture to ensure that roadmaps and plans reflect the latest strategy and direction
As a strategic thinker, you will you engage both business and TS stakeholders to plan, identify and evaluate the feasibility and business value of strategic initiatives. Your demonstrated critical thinking and analysis skills help lead both business and IT teams through ambiguity and shape solutions for business case consideration. This includes identifying options, estimating costs, benefit, and risk analysis along with assessing different execution and resourcing approaches to expedite delivery.
As a portfolio leader, you will partner with TS business leaders to position and articulate the technology portfolio to senior TS and business leaders; this will include developing quarterly portfolio updates, tracking key portfolio KPIs and financials, maintaining and facilitating the portfolio pipeline and priorities, and providing portfolio insights and decision-support to stakeholders.
As a technology delivery leader, you will mobilize new strategic initiatives and discovery assessments to introduce new technologies and capabilities into our architecture, while also ensuring that decisions are supported by our architecture strategy
As a trusted partner, you will work closely with business and technology leaders to ensure both business and technical needs are understood and accommodated. You have a reputation for delivering on commitments; you are results-oriented and have a track record for driving action without creating collateral damage or breaking processes.
As a relationship manager, you will establish and maintain effective working relationships between business and TS teams, founded on respect, continuous collaboration and open communication. You are customer driven without compromising technical integrity.

What do you bring to the role?
Degree in business, computer science or a related discipline is preferred
5+ years of project experience using different delivery methodologies in IT and/or business
3+ years of experience in technology / IT strategy, planning, and decision support
Experience in establishing and mobilizing technology discovery initiatives
Hands-on experience developing business case cost and timeline estimates and technology roadmaps
Practical understanding in Enterprise project portfolio management and strategic planning
Experience in delivering IT solutions in insurance or banking industries
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to multi-task and effectively manage competing and changing priorities
Ability to work effectively in a matrix or shared services organization
Relevant industry-related certifications e.g: PMP, Six Sigma, CSM, SAFe
Practical knowledge of project management techniques, tools, methodologies
