What is the opportunity? 

Capital Markets Technology, Rates IT group is seeking a Senior Software Developer for their Rates Derivatives pricing applications supporting both Flow and Structured desks. We are looking to build a set of foundational services to be shared between Pricing, Risk and Trading systems to help streamline business processes and improve operational inefficiencies. Opportunity will allow individual to gain extensive business knowledge while using the latest Server- Side Java technologies. Work in a fast paced environment with highly engaged stake-holders.

What will you do? 

  • Work with Development Lead/Manager, business partners and various technology groups to deliver high quality products.
  • Work as a senior member of a global team to build solutions that can be leveraged across various asset classes in the Rates business
  • Design, develop and maintain reusable Java server-side components in support of our main business functions.
  • Involved in requirements gathering and meetings as needed
  • What do you need to succeed? 

    Must Have

  • Strong technical developer with 10+yrs hands on in Java 1.8+, spring, Distributed databases, Caching, Web Services and database technologies
  • At least 5+yrs of experience in middleware messaging technologies like Solace, Tibco
  • Knowledge and experience with Caching solutions: In- House, Apache Ignite, Hazelcast, Ehcache
  • Working knowledge of design patterns, data structures, algorithms and OO concepts
  • Knowledge of version control systems like SVN, GitHub and Jenkins and build control systems like Maven and Gradle
  • Nice to Have

  • Understanding of Reuters and Bloomberg market data feeds for interest rate derivative products.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, OpenFin or ReactJS is plus
  • Test driven Development experience is plus
  • Unix/Windows system experience is preferred
  • Experience/Knowledge of No-SQL DB technology: MongoDB
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with front end technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6 ideally) and current web frameworks and tools (ReactJS, Redux, Webpack, Bootstrap, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience with API design and development (REST, Websockets, Spring Boot, NodeJS, etc) and familiarity with providing sub-millisecond, low latency level response time in applications
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technology solutions in front of internal and external audiences/users and communicating those thoughts to people with various levels of technical expertise
  • Familiar with user experience concepts and wire-framing
  • Experience with test frameworks (JUnit, Jest, etc) and with source control (SVN, Git, etc)
  • Nice-to-have:

  • Application container technologies (Docker)
  • HTML5 container technologies(Electron, OpenFin, etc)
  • Understanding the implications of “mobile-first” frameworks
  • Previous capital markets experience/knowledge of electronic trading
