***Please note this is a 6-month contract position for an independent contractor

The Financial Business Analyst will be an integral member of a global team responsible for the Financial Transformation Program, including the implementation of a global practice management and accounting system. He/she will act as a liaison between the business end users and the global technology team to validate the documented business needs of project stakeholders, enhance / implement process changes, integrate third party applications and support the full application implementation testing cycle.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (business administration, accounting, information technology, etc.)
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA) an asset
  • Equivalent financial experience
  • Knowledge and Experience

  • 5 to 8 years experience as a financial business analyst
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted
  • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and communicate these back to the business stakeholders
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements – verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood
  • Experience with the business and technical requirements of large scale finance system implementations and integration to external applications
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement business process changes and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the full application implementation testing cycle including business scenario identification, test script development and test execution for SIT, EVT and UAT
  • Experience with Thompson Reuters Elite Enterprise or 3E, a definite asset
  • Knowledge of the Legal or other professional services industry, an asset
  • Experience in large, complex international organizations, an asset

  • Excellent knowledge of the Office Suite
  • Ability to work remotely in a collaborative team environment
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours to accommodate teams located across multiple time zones
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
