The Communications Coordinator (Enrollment) supports the University in recruiting and converting the best possible students to Western, by promoting Western University’s brand and programs through the development of content for multiple channels and through the support of virtual and in-person recruitment activities. The Coordinator is responsible for developing multimedia content and writing for all of our digital channels, including our websites, email, social media, advertising, third-party sites, SMS, and presentations. The Coordinator will also work with other enrollment team members and liaison officers to execute the digital recruitment strategy.


- Undergraduate Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism/Media or Related Program

- 2 years’ experience in a communications, marketing, or journalism/media related field with an emphasis on digital communications
- Previous experience in a post-secondary environment is preferred
- Experience implementing communications plans, marketing and/or journalism, with responsibility for managing projects and developing communications is preferred 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with e-communication tools including website and graphic design principles and with social media platforms relevant to student populations
- Knowledge of theory and best practices in content strategy and of marketing trends and best practices
- Familiarity with principles of writing, including grammar and style, argument, and coherence 
- Compelling and persuasive communication skills to engage individuals and teams inside and outside the University, with confidence interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Demonstrated intercultural competency and knowledge of cross-cultural research and work practices
- Ability to quickly adjust priorities in response to unexpected events or changing circumstances
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use relevant software that achieves required outcomes and is in line with best practices
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines
- Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds 
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions and instruct others
- Positive, outgoing attitude with a genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to remain highly motivated, resilient, innovative, and collaborative when faced with challenges
- A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
- A working knowledge of post-secondary programs throughout Canada is an asset
