As a Mechanical designer / design engineer working as an integral part of the Toronto office, your duties will include but not be limited to:Experience designing in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical projects in the infrastructure, aviation and transit sectors. Understanding and performing engineering calculations independently. Involvement in a project or a small portfolio of projects of various sizes and types from conception through to completion. Assessing and understanding project requirements from type of heating, friction factors, reverse return, etc. Undertaking mechanical design across a number of disciplines. Agreeing timescales and specifications with clients and managers. Preparation of documents and reports. Having an appreciation of the roles of fellow professionals on multidisciplinary projects and interfacing and coordinating with them appropriately. Preparing and revising 3D BIM models and extracting 2D drawings as required. Following checking and self-checking process, issuing drawings to internal and external clients, and managing electronic information. Responsible for good quality issue of IFC drawings and specifications Utilize collaboration techniques for information management and implement Building Information Modelling (BIM) Training team members in technical software and collaboration tools, design coordination workflows
The ideal candidate will have experience working within our primary markets along with having the following candidate specifications (preferred candidates will possess the following):8+ years’ experience in engineering design using BIM methodologies and AutoCADD Desire to progress a career in either BIM design or mechanical engineering Experienced in HAP and IES Understanding of Civil 3D design LEED accreditation is an advantage Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing Drainage and Fire Protection systems. Able to apply technical knowledge in analyzing problems and creating solutions. Able to work on own initiative with good eye to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills, setting priorities, to complete deliverables on time
