POSITION SUMMARY 
As the Accountant, you will help us meet reporting deadlines and ensure reliable, accurate information is provided to key decision makers in a timely manner. This position is ideal for a go-getter that asks questions to better understand the why’s behind the entries, those who would like to experience a fast-paced, retail environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Reconcile and streamline Intercompany transactions; ensure all intercompany POs are billed and corresponding transactions are entered in the respective entities.
  • Confirmation of intercompany balances at month end
  • Assist with the month end close processes (preparation of journal entries, recurring entries and accruals)
  • Process & reconcile corporate credit card statements and associated expense reports
  • Preparing and submitting government tax remittances
  • Record day to day financial transactions using NetSuite
  • Process and Arrange Logistics payments on time and in accordance with company policy
  • Reconcile Logistics supplier statements and assist with external inquiries
  • Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing system to provide accurate paperwork records
  • Proactively resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues
  • Build relationships and effectively communicate with suppliers, cross-functionally and within the department
  • Take initiatives to improve processes and adapt to changes
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Understanding of accounting principles
  • Enrolment in or holding a post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting is an asset
  • Excellent communications skills, both in verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and in an ethical manner
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Strong work ethic, energetic, positive attitude and flexible
  • Ability to work independently, and enjoys a collaborative and creative work environment
